KEYSTONE BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF CONSULTANT LUBRICANTS, INC.'S NEW HQ

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 25, 1999 - Keystone Construction Co. has begun construction on a new corporate headquarters and research and development facility for Consultant Lubricants, Inc., specializing in formulating and compounding chemicals. The new 21,000-square-foot facility will be located on a 1.9-acre site in the Missouri Research Park and is scheduled for to be completed January 2000. Since 1993, the company has been located at 7 Steelcote Square in the City of St. Louis, where it will continue to use the facility for Chemical Solutions Co. Inc., their waste water/oil management company.

John W. Hardie, Keystone Construction Co., said that the building is comprised of splitface concrete masonry units, precast concrete copings and reveals and green reflective glass with custom frames. The architect is Tom Hall, MTH Architects.

"It is a unique design," said Hardie. "The office walls serpentine around the manufacturing portion of the facility giving it a very free form design. The curved glass block wall allows ample natural light into the offices, as well as adding an important design element."

The subcontractors on the project are Blattner & Associates, steel; Rock Hill Mechanical Corp., heating, ventilation and air-conditioning; Acme Glass Co., glass; Kyhl Co., plumbing; Aschinger Electric Co., electric; Advanced Fire Protection Corp., fire protection; McNealy Bumberry Engineers; Pickett Ray & Silver, Inc., civil engineers; Ste. Genevieve Masonry, masonry; and MTH Architects.

Founded in 1976, Consultant Lubricants, Inc. (CLI) formulates and compounds chemicals utilized in the machining, stamping, grinding and extrusion of metal and metal alloys. The company currently is marketing a unique product line in the United States for

Tier I and Tier II automotive manufacturers. In their stamping and drawing process, the proprietary compound allows industry to weld directly over the drawn part, therefore, eliminating the need to remove the product prior to welding, resulting in significant cost reductions. The company's clients spread throughout various industries including, automotive/ transportation, appliance, aerospace, industrial equipment, hardware, medical/dental and more. CLI is currently in the process of licensing in Canada, Mexico and Germany.

"We are growing at a phenomenal rate and need to expand our facilities," said Mel Kohl, president of Consultant Lubricants, Inc. "In order to locate in the Missouri Research Park, CLI had to demonstrate that our company is primarily research and development. After seeing some of the construction Keystone has already completed in the Park, they were naturally our choice as general contractor."
